A tasty hot cereal inspired by those “other” breakfast cereals, but a better-for-you version that will get kids to eat their oats!

Here's all you need to make your Cocoa Oatmeal:

Ingredients

1/3 cup rolled oats

1/3 cup unsweetened almond milk

1 tablespoon cocoa powder

1 tablespoon maple syrup - to taste

1 tablespoon peanut butter (smooth if preferred)

1 tablespoon dark chocolate chips

Method

In a small saucepan combine oats, milk, maple syrup, and cocoa powder. Simmer until milk is absorbed, stirring frequently – about 4-6 minutes. When oats are cooked through, remove from the heat and stir in peanut butter. Place in a small bowl and top with chocolate chips. Add more milk if you like your oatmeal thinner, or more maple syrup if you like it sweeter and add strawberries to add colour and more goodness.

Mmmm! Why not have a go at making this delicious Cocoa Oatmeal?
